Ingredients
- 200g (7 oz) paneer, cut into small cubes or strips
- 6 small flour tortillas
- 1 teaspoon tandoori masala
- ½ teaspoon cumin powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 cup shredded cabbage
- ½ cup diced tomatoes
- Fresh coriander and lime wedges to serve
- Mint chutney or yogurt sauce to serve
Instructions
- Season the paneer: Toss paneer cubes with tandoori masala, cumin, paprika, salt, and oil. Mix well to coat.
- Cook the paneer: Heat a pan over high heat. Cook paneer for 2-3 minutes per side until nicely charred and crispy on the edges.
- Warm the tortillas: Heat tortillas directly on a flame for 10 seconds per side, or in a dry pan.
- Assemble: Place paneer in each tortilla. Top with shredded cabbage, diced tomatoes, and coriander. Drizzle with mint chutney.
- Serve: Squeeze lime juice over each taco. Serve immediately while warm.
Tips
- For best results, don’t stir the paneer too much — let it sit and char on each side for the best flavour and texture.
- Quick mint chutney: blend ½ cup fresh mint, ¼ cup coriander, 1 green chili, juice of 1 lime, pinch of salt, and 2 tbsp water.
- Try corn tortillas for a gluten-free option.
